Downtown Scranton Christmas Wedding

Chiara & Connor's

There’s something about the joy and enchantment of a Holiday wedding. Whether it’s the festive atmosphere, twinkling lights, and being surrounded by loved ones, there’s an extra layer of cheerfulness in the air.

Chiara and Connor’s wedding took place a day before New Year’s Eve. After a morning at their parent’s houses filming them getting ready for the day, we went to their church, which was so elegantly decorated for Christmas. The ceremony music was just short of a concert, playing Holiday classics such as “Somewhere in my Memory” and “Oh Come All Ye Faithful” as the guests were seated. It was truly a beautiful ceremony and a reminder why I believe it's so important to capture the full version — from the first song to final exit. After their ceremony, we all braved the chilly weather and did portraits outside with a fun-filled wedding party. We took in all the holiday design inside the Scranton Cultural Center.

The holiday season can invoke a nostalgic sense of wonder for many people. The spirit of Christmas and loved ones gathered together reminds us of times gone by, and allows us to create new memories with new and old friends. There’s a reason Christmas and New Years are many people’s favorite holidays — and without a surprise, they’re some of my favorite weddings, too. The magical celebration, the exuberant spirit of New Years, and the beginning of a new chapter together — it’s the perfect time to share that experience with the people you love.

A holiday wedding is a testament to the enduring spirit of love and tradition
