Coming in from their home in Arizona, Emery & Ron pulled up at Skytop on Friday afternoon, the day before their wedding. "Hey guys!" I said as they crossed the bridge to the lodge. "Let's do the interview first and then get some footage of you walking around."

Emery & Ronnie chose to do an "Adventure Session" - which, to be honest I'm not sure I love that name, but it's essentially an additional day gathering content. Mostly, it's sitting down and having a conversation about your life and relationship. There's a lot we already know - and we try and steer you in certain directions to produce authentic responses of what will help us develop a deeper storyline.

For Emery & Ron - this enabled them to go into great detail about how they met (WE ARE PENN STATE), their love for Las Vegas, and the difficulties of not having of Emery's late father at their wedding.

To me, not just capturing those symbolisms of Emery's father, but having her talk about them, is just as important. When I was editing their ceremony a bird flew through the frame in such a way that made think for a second. I'm certainly in no position to say what that was or wasn't - but it made me feel good and I hope it did them too.

Emery shared that she wrote Ron a letter for his birthday the first year they were dating. "I signed it with - I can't wait to share this adventure with you" and I feel like that's what life is with Ronnie. We get to spend every day with our best friend, our "person", having new adventures and tackling anything that comes our way, together."

Yes, the venue was beautiful, they shared excellent custom vows, the wedding party was energetic and weather was perfect. But the depth of their story is how they both got there in the first place. And to be able to share that forever - with each other, their children, their friends - reminds me of why I do what I do.
