We’ve said it a dozen times - backyard weddings are some of our favorites. There’s just a different feeling to them. In late summer, Jenna and Matthew’s wedding took place at her parent’s home. That morning, she spent time with her bridesmaids and had sweet little moments getting ready with her mom, and first looks with her dad and brothers.
Jenna is an artist. She painted a personalized styling board for her bridal details. This creativity carried throughout the reception with the gorgeous decor that was presented under the tent. I believe us artists share a certain chromosome and are somehow all connected within the universe. We understand each other – the triumphs and struggles that come with creativity. While all of our couples are thankful for the work we do, Jenna seemed to appreciate their film from an artistic viewpoint just a little more, and it’s a warm feeling I won’t soon forget. We always love when a wedding has great audio elements to guide the story along - and this video is a perfect example of that. Their officiant, Father Rizzo, always delivers a personalized homily that really paints a picture of who the couple is.

Speeches given by parents are also very meaningful. That evening, Jenna’s Dad gave a heartfelt toast where he shared how he had created a friendship with Matthew’s late father over their passion for classic cars. These cars were displayed in the front of the house for everyone to see. In that moment, the presence of those vintage vehicles symbolized not only the beauty of the past but also the enduring legacy of friendship, love, and cherished memories that transcended generations. The night ended with lots of dancing, fireworks, and a surprise song sung by the mother of the groom. So much love filled that backyard tent and we were thrilled to have been a part of it.
