Creative inspiration. Summer vibes. Classy and fun. All of that comes to mind when describing Miranda & Bryan's wedding day. We were first introduced to them by Amanda DiPierro of Electric City Event Co., a wedding planner we work with often. From the moment I heard some details - the open-air venue, exposed stone and steel, an intimate garden ceremony, the most perfectly lit area for getting ready - I was hooked.

Something about that day gave me a huge boost of creative inspiration. Everywhere you looked there was something to film. The table decor. The way the sun was hitting the flowers. The shadows on the dress. Working with the amazingly talented Brittany Boote. Mixing all of that with Miranda's bubbly personality and Bryan's wit, (I loved some of the lines in his custom vows) this lead to a storyline Martina and I were passionate to showcase.

As mentioned, their cermony had some really nice touches to it. Miranda's step-dad was the officiant, and they read custom vows to each other that were really well written. At the end of the ceremony, all the guests did a champagne toast. Later, as the daylight faded, the garden was lit up with an outdoor dance floor and bonfire that kept the party going well into the night. It was the perfect kickoff to summer.

When I was editing their film a month or so later, looking over the footage took me right back to that day. I was inspired yet again and went a bit outside the box with the opening sequence. I loved the way it turned out (so did they) and we've used that technique on a few more films this season.
